Pros

Once known for the created culture of kind, genuine, and enthusiastic associates. A warm atmosphere that welcomed all that visit through the doors with genuine product knowledge and a pure love and joy for customer interaction. (Those times have changed!)

Cons

The love here is lost. Loyal employees that have been with the company for years leaving. Stayed all those years through many changes for the pure love, and joy both for the customers, the beautiful product, and the warm family environment that once came from the corporate level all the way down through the stores. Unfortunately stores doing more with less. Then no support in the hiring and training processes. Then if you do find someone for your team you must pass 5 interviews and be a brain surgeon to be hired. Long hours that they say you should not have but, need to do to lack of support in upper level management. Inflated yearly budgets. Competing against your own companies web sales. Then an elementary school report card that becomes the rating and ranking system not only for sales but, for emails, credit cards. Your are then judged on that score. Associates loosing passion for selling because they are constantly on edge and worrying about a grade. Move on from it go back to your roots and family values. Listen to your managers, and associates and give them the needed support. Customers are your outlet. Give that back to your associates and let them enhance the customers experience taking away the stressors you have put in place. There is a reason there are so many job postings for this company. Corporate change is needed. Keep the loyalty in who you have left. They are the key to your success. Utilize them as your trainers because you lost some of the best. Listen to them!

Pros

There are some amazing team members and talent at this location, but that's about the only thing this location has going for it.

Cons

If you're looking to make money, look elsewhere. The compensation is horrible, it's barely a living wage. Maybe as a sales associate you make a decent wage, but working on commission is pointless. As a new furniture associate you receive a stipend for your first year, which means every 4 weeks, whether you make your commission or not, the company will top you up. However, you're only making a very minimal commission % until you reach the predetermined goal, than you'll make an additional (it's not by any means substantial) commission on anything over that, ps, it resets every four weeks. You're better off going to competitors in this market who will start you at 4 or 6% commission. This pay structure is not competitive at all, and the starting base wage is pretty pathetic. The store is not effectively run. And the expectation of the furniture team, when compared to the wage we're making, is actually ridiculous.

Pros

Great friendships and discount. Beautiful product

Cons

Company no longer promotes from within and so are left with a management staff that have no clue what they are doing. Very low morale amongst the staff who are not recognized except for how many credit cards they open. Not enough staff for the work that is expected of them...management offers no help other than to delegate more work to people who are already doing the work of 3 or more associates. Pay is very low in relation to the expected amount of work. Micromanaging of associates by management who have no idea of what these associates do or how they do it.
