Thank you for your review, I’m glad you enjoyed being part of a truly global business. I’m disappointed to read your cons, we invest heavily in training and developing our leaders from when they first become managers and throughout their leadership careers, ensuring that they are equipped to build a high-performing team culture and to help their people develop the recruitment skills, smart working practices and autonomy to succeed. But we are always open to feedback, if you’d like, you can reach out to me at rachna.ratra@robertwalters.co.jp to arrange a confidential discussion. Rachna Ratra Managing Director – Tokyo.

Pros

There were some major issues towards the end of my time at RW but I'm choosing to give 5 stars because there's: - GREAT TRAINING for entry level recruiters - Genuine comradery - Fun company sponsored dinners/trips/activities - Opportunities to bonus - Global company so you get to meet and work with people from all over the world - Fast movement up the ladder if that's what you want - You learn how to grind and be a corporate baddie

Cons

- Prepare for absolutely zero work/life balance during the week. They're really good about honoring weekends and PTO but when you're on ...it's high pressure. - Hybrid office requirements, but salary isn't high enough to live in the city ...so you end up commuting several days a week from an affordable city which can end up being a long drive. Most of the LA office had to drive 45min - an hour each way because salary wasn't enough to live in Santa Monica/Marina del Rey (our office was in Santa Monica). - Your bonus opportunities are all group bonuses ...so your ability to earn extra $$$$ depends on other people ...and how that bonus pool is distributed is decided by your manager. So get a good relationship going with your manager or else your wallet could suffer. - Make friends with the decision makers and people with power ASAP ...it's cliquey/political and there's lots of gossip. Try your best to bond with people without revealing too much about your personal life. Everything you say and how you conduct yourself matters a lot. - Heavy/multiple layoffs in North America ...and the people who survived were the ones who politicked/made the correct friendships. - Micromanaging (you need this if you're brand new to recruitment though ...annoying once you get some experience under your belt). - Heavy emphasis on business development and sales (unrealistic performance expectations surrounding this - not enough hours in the day if you're sourcing multiple jobs!) - They say they're not KPI driven but they are 10000000% KPI driven. Hit those KPI stats weekly or you're on the fast path to losing your job.

Pros

Company is newbie friendly, staffs there are really nice, you would even question yourself if you are just not that nice. Personal experience, managers would guide you all through out the training process, would ask feedbacks and insights, basicallly a dream company if you care for mental health. 3x a week onsite is not bad.

Cons

Salary is really low, yearly increase will never keep up with the inflation. All leaves are prorated and plotted for specific days so goodluck if you wanna take a long break, you will be working on ph holidays too. let it be a habit to clarify things with the HR team as they can make mistakes that will make you cry. So ask and ask and ask and clarify.

We’re proud that we’re dedicated to setting our people up for success by providing the right environment, tools and training to build and develop successful long-term careers with us. I am of course disappointed to read your cons. We do offer competitive salaries in line with market rates and I’m concerned to read your comments about our HR teams so would appreciate discussing this further with you. So, if you’d like, please feel free to email me at kristen.buckheit@resourcesolutions.com and we can arrange a confidential conversation.
