Pros

Co-workers were friendly and so was the supervisor. Decent work life balance.

Cons

Pays minimum wage and laid me off out out of no where. Not even my supervisor was aware of it until after the fact. I worked there for a couple of years with an almost perfect customer service satisfaction rating and this is how they treated me. How it happened you might ask? HR notified me of a meeting 1 hour before my shift. I hadn't even logged in yet. I began my shift normally, logging into my email, the CRM, everything else, and assisted a couple of customers. Then the scheduled meeting, (which was to take place 30 minutes after my shift started) was coming up and i attended it. I didn't even know what it was. That's when some manager i've never met before and an HR person was there waiting for me and I could clearly tell that the manager was reading off of a script on his computer (monotonously and with absolutely no empathy) telling me that I was being laid off. I know I wasn't the only person laid off. There were a ton of other employees who were laid off too (they also had good customer service satisfaction scores and were good workers too). Don't bother working for this company, they'll get rid of you eventually.

Pros

Really enjoyed working with many of my peers there.

Cons

The company does not reward longevity or dedication. I left over a year ago after they stealthily began letting go of many employees who had worked there for over 10 years without any forewarning. I just heard recently that they fired the entire QA department except for the new managers/director. Even if this wasn't the case, the technology is so old that almost everything you learn from working here does not translate directly to any other company, so you're not helping your career path much. On top of that, management is EXTREMELY negative with almost no positive feedback. They also require workers to record what they worked on down to 15 minute increments, but then pressure hourly employees to work past 40 hours without saying it outright so they can't be sued.

Pros

The team works incredibly hard to support the hundreds of different tasks that happens on a daily. The products are definitely great quality products when I first started, but lately I've noticed a lot more issues esp in the furniture sector of the business. There are great workers here and all hardworking. Compared to most retailers the previous CEO Neela has really pushed this company forward in investing in technology to build an infrastructure that can survive tough times.

Cons

It is the middle management that has been there for 20-30+ years that refuse to really change and grow. The technology that HQ builds never works for the stores since the middle management have no clue in terms of how to execute these technologies and provide constructive feedback. Half the time they don't even know how to use zoom or google sheets. There are so many different opinions and lack of prioritization from the middle management that it makes everyone in the stores run around without proper direction. Much like every big company - there are politics, but this place has a larger group of middle management that doesn't support employees who have new ideas or want to make a change. There's no accountability held at the corporate level since everyone in the store level is running around fighting fires at each moment without even time to sit down and take a second break. The staff is overworked mainly due to the management that runs the place without real project management skills or any technical skills.
