Pros

Working from home is the biggest plus. The job is relatively easy once you have an understanding of everything.

Cons

Obviously the customers can be annoying and very rude. My supervisor has changed many many many times in my 3 years. Right as I start to feel comfortable, my supervisor would change again. I have lost a lot of respect for crate and barrel as a company. The product quality has gone wayyyy down and customers have noticed this. But this thing that really lost my respect is laying off half of your associates and supervisors in the customer service center and outsourcing them. There was a level 1 customer service and level 2 customer service. Level 1 dealt mostly with housewares. Level 2 dealt with more furniture issues. They have decided to lay off every single level 1 associate located in the United States. Every single one. They replaced these associates with SSG associates from Panama, Mexico and Jamaica. The SSG associates are known to cause more problems and customer dissatisfaction. They have outsourced to save a buck and I have a feeling it is going to cost them in the end. I like to have pride in the work I do and who I work for. I definitely do not feel that way anymore after what they did.

Pros

+ People seem to care that you work there + They are aware of their problems and want to change + People work hard and really want to change the company culture

Cons

- The onboarding is non-existent. You will literally spend the first few months/year figuring out your position and who to work with. This is most likely because the majority of the corporate employees have been there for decades. - They have an implementation issue. I, personally, have spent unnecessary weeks developing comprehensive plans and drafting process documents that literally never come to pass. It's a waste of time and frustrating. - The C-suite, especially the CEO, will not give any clear direction so you can execute a task successfully. Instead, they find an employee that has been working there longer and ask them to make changes to your work. - They do not value work/life balance. Upper management expects you to work nights and weekends because they fail to meet deadlines. They will call you at 9:30pm on a Saturday to discuss a project because they never have time to meet with you during working hours.
