Pros

You get a number of work travels during the year, in different cities around Europe, and at Visma office in Oslo. You get to meet a lot of interesting people and learn about different cultures. The work environment doesn't feel stressful and you can learn a lot from your asigned mentor. You get to go to conferences and there are a lot of interesting internal trainings of all sorts of topics. There are a lot of benefits from free fruit to free gym membership to a lot of gym centers in the city.

Cons

After some time the development process and the technology can feel outdated, and there can be a lot of legacy code to maintain and you can feel that you are not learning new things. There is only one evaluation during the year, and also sometimes salaries fall behind the market.

Pros

Albeit a typical corporate environment, Visma does offer a flat hierarchy, pretty friendly work environment and good work-life balance.

Cons

They’re constantly reorganizing, bringing in new managers and letting others go, with little to no notice period. They don’t let these people talk to their coworkers about what’s happened, and the people who are left behind are constantly having to make up for the lost workforce without fair compensation for the overtime work. Visma’s efforts to keep things under wraps only spark more speculations and uncertainty. Their whole spiel about promoting DEI and women in tech, as well as performing so well as a software provider, is not at all what’s reflected behind closed doors.

Pros

Great coworkers. Good equipment. Nice offices. A lot of freedom and responsibility. Good career opportunities. One can work with everything from decades old legacy to the newest possible technologies. Culture is like in every other big multinational corporation. The company is insanely profitable.

Cons

Salary is slave tier. The company has over hired by a lot.
