Pros

For several years ago it was great.

Cons

Today with the Romanian management and the German influence unfortunately Visma has become very bad as working place. Seniors are leaving and the company is left with juniors and very unprofessional management. The salaries are very low compared to market level.

Suppression and abuse

Pros

It's a stable job, which can last for decades for low level ICs, unless they get too unlucky with the manager.

Cons

Unless you come from a good family or have special relations with good people, you will never be treated as a human. Career-wise, the limit would be mid-management — still with very little authority. But with right connections (or manage to represent a minority once a quota shortage comes up), very quick advancement is possible. HR is very professional in finding ways of using protective Norwegian labour regulations for destructive personal abuse for undesirable people. And the pay will, officially, never be high: it's the strategy. The employees should "feel lucky" (a quote) because of relatively better pension terms and discounts in local restaurants.

Pros

Can by promoted fats for brownnosing and while having no competency. The less competent you are the more they like you. CEO apologized on toxic peoples behalf.

Cons

1 Micromanagement Editing your work without telling you, setting meetings behind your back, excluding for meetings regarding areas you are responsible for. 2 Nepotism Hiring friends of employees, hiring employees that have parents in government positions, hiring people with connections etc. 3 Zero support or structure Couldn't figure out who is my manager or responsible party, had multiple people named responsible at same time, yet no one took any responsibility. Did not describe position well, did not create areas of responsibility, ignored all my implemented routines or guidelines, complained that things had to be documented to be compliant with GDPR. Did not change existing structure to account for the new role, ignored suggestions or went to higher ups behind the back. Accused me of not making it magically work and be very useful to the team without any support or structure. 4 Bait and switch hiring tactics Never mentioned during interviews that micromanager in another country will be actual the manager, promised manager or similar position but never implemented any power and not incorporated into development process. Created role solely to please customer, once customer was less involved, they didn't care about me anymore. 5 Toxic environment People who got management positions treated the rest like lower class that should just serve them. Left meetings or excluded because they didn't like feedback, sabotaged customer meetings then acted like victim and complained to HR. All important information was shared between close knit inner group only, roles were created solely for the same group. 5 No communication Never told me what the problems were, did not give any feedback for 2 years even when requested on internal platform, withhold important information related to work and so on. First step to "problem solution" was to set meeting with HR and collectively bash me with multiple people as well as illegally making changes to my role, without actually talking to me or taking in account my medical situation. Yet one of those people never replied for 1 and half years prior to said bashing, denied accountability and said that I should only talk to toxic self-proclaimed "manager" . 6 No onboarding/offboarding, retaliation after I resigned Never got proper onboarding as expected manager quit, after quitting the bashing trio including HR refused to talk to me, never gave any relevant information, but where quick to withdraw my credentials. Retaliated by keeping sickness benefits from Nav for couple months after I was no longer employed and contract run out. They also expected me to fix things I didn't know about ( since no offboarding) while in hospital, where I ended up because I got clinically severe depressed from working there. 7 They didn't follow laws regarding graded sick leave I was micromanaged into working everyday, regardless that I needed rest. Also to work on 100% sick days, 1 hour overtime everyday or more for free was a norm because toxic micromanager was from another country and time zone and gotta love team meetings after work hours on fridays. Made changes to my employment without talking to me and harassed me about delivery times while in the process of medical accomodation on graded sick leave. 8 Little acknowledgement while credit taking for your work or ideas I was accused of not being useful to the company, yet they had no problems taking credit for my suggestions multiple times. For example manager edited my work and then presented as their own. I have found and negotiated functionality that has been directly implemented into development and shortened design and delivery times substantially, but got no thanks at all and my name was left out from giving kudos to teams on multiple occasions. 9 Cheapskate They demanded I return everything theirs including a sim card, they withdrew money from my salary for a sim card for the months that the sim card was in their possession. Automatically paying for the canteen as remote worker is also fun.
