Pros

Visma is a norwegian company based in Oslo, Norway. The company Visma Software sp. z o.o. is a polish autonomous branch of the main one, providing Accounting software to small / medium sized companies in Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and the U.K. The company provides a norwegian working culture down in Kraków. I had overall great to very great colleagues. Good technical equipment (top-notch laptops, some tables can be adjusted electrically) Central location in Kraków

Cons

Low salary. Taking the duties, workload and the company's growth and origin into account, this is basically insulting. Absent HR. Don't ask for anything by yourself, go through your nearest leader (works sometimes). You will receive a 2 years contract after your probation, many other companies in Kraków with the same positions offer directly a permanent employment contract. You may find a few active / passive aggressive coworkers that will insult or bother you for fun. You may not have any work/life balance as your leader may send you emails regarding work as late as 10 pm. Cliques are very present. I got fired without any warning and no provided reason, right before going home on a monday evening, during what should have been a "casual meeting" between my nearest leader and myself. I initially should have worked for 2 months more (notice period), but the fact that the office was offended by the leaders conduct towards me made them fire me on the spot 2 days later, 10 am in the morning, so people would stop talk about it. You may be accused of things you have never done, or things you did taken out of their context, for the sake of justifying their decisions.

Can feel like a timewarp to 80s, not in the good way.

Pros

At least where I work, the location is unbeatable.

Cons

▪ Some of the management lacks even the most basic leadership skills, and are downright unprofessional. Everything depends on the division and manager you get. ▪ Salary not necessarily up to par with competition ▪ Limited benefits (f.e. no company phone) ▪ Can be difficult to agree on remote work days ▪ Can be extremely difficult to arrange unpaid holidays ▪ Big part of developers come straight after uni and are designated to a project. They often work in client’s premises with little or no work support. ▪ Company doesn't invest on employees. All the education is fine though, as long as the client can be billed for it. ▪ It’s all about the money, not about making something great.
