Pros
Swissport is prominent in other regions outside of SF Bay Area and across the Globe (intercontinental). I personally was able to have gainful employment while looking for other opportunities. They have some global influence / footprint in the Aviation industry. Could possibly be used as a stepping stone in order to advance into managementmanagement. Opportunity for possible growth is available to the "right" type of person. Must be alignment with management. Experience is valued over education (caveat to this education is not respected). Plenty of room for growth and expansion for Swissport due to current restructuring in senior leadership. Most employees have a wealth of knowledge within Aviation industry
Cons
Unfortunately Swissport has failed in its operations within Northern California due to poor management, lack of leadership and outdated / antiquated - heavy micromanagement from the top down. My work hours (standard across the board within departmental mgmt.) wer (13) days on and (1) day off. This was due to lack of support from leadership as QHSE is very immature and in the beginning stages. Several promises were made (Resource / tools support including - people resources, motor vehicular and maintained fleet for operations and frontline staff, lack of advanced technology, support from leadership. There is a major emotional intelligence gap with antiquated management style, along with lack of direction and supported vision by local leadership which creates a hostile enviornment. People are treated like replaceable cigs and if you are not in alignment with management you will be removed - change agents are not desired which became costly to my career to challenge the norm. Short term thinking (tactical only - very non strategic) lack Of safety roadmap and vision. This is also inclusive of cynicism which readily occurs. Turnover rates are astronomical due to lack of leadership. Pay is very kow in comparison to industry standards.
