Pros

Great access to blue chip clients and the ability to drive your own role in your own way and delivery to the client.

Cons

The culture is awful. Driven by a disparate management team who are blind to actual client and employee requirements, they hire young and naive employees with little to no outsourcing experience or awareness of the job in hand and grossly overpay them, mostly with no equality between personnel. Delivery teams, whilst mostly nice people to start, become quickly depressed, overworked and throw each other under a bus of office politics at the first opportunity which drives deeper office cliques and feeds toxicity. The management team commoditise staff and will drop them like flies and have are at the mercy of the Plc when it comes to budgets, so don’t expect any investment into people or culture development.

Thanks for your review of working with Resource Solutions. You're right about our people having access to some great blue chips clients (among many other industries, including financial services, legal, media and entertainment, pharma and manufacturing, insurance, professional services, etc.), and the autonomy we encourage to drive your own role in a way that benefits both our business and our people. That's especially true since the launch of our Smart Working approach this year. Starting with an assumption of trust in our people to deliver on their targets and objectives, it relies on our business working with our people to deliver the flexibility they need to achieve that best work-life balance for their individual needs. It's been a great success. It's one of many reasons why I disagree with your assertion about our working culture. We may not get everything right all of the time, but over the past year especially we have worked very hard to invest more in the training and development offer for our people globally, and also ensured we are listening closely to feedback to make the changes our people need to feel fulfilled and supported in their roles. We want our people to grow and develop in their jobs, to enjoy their careers with us. That sometimes means they begin as inexperienced people who have great potential, and it would be anathema to our values not to recognise their talent and nurture it, for the benefit of those individuals, our clients and our business. That's why, although I welcome your review and will take onboard any valid criticisms, I have to disagree with much of it. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to write your review. Pros

They pay you on time

Cons

- Long hours 8.30 to 18.00 as standard, not including overtime, even if you are not a recruiter - Manipulative management, will say one thing to your face and another to other colleagues or other management - Anonymous "employees" posting generous yet very generic reviews about the company...even to the point of claiming they don't want to go home... hmmm. Totally reflects my experiences of how manipulative some management can be at that company - treat you like children and a 1980's approach to working life - probably reflecting the ethos of parent company Robert Walters

Thank you for your review. I'm pleased to say that, after listening to lots of feedback here on Glassdoor and across our business, and just a few days after you posted your review, we announced our 'Smart Working' approach globally across our business. One of the central ambitions of that was to ensure we're treating our people like adults, removing the constraints of a rigid 0830-1800 work day, and in return trusting our people to focus on getting the job done rather than merely being present in the office. This represents a big cultural change for us as a business, and it will take time to become established. It also can't be applied completely uniformly because of the nature of our business, with contractual requirements from our clients to mirror their working practices, or variations in working time directives and legislation from one region and country to another. However, none of that dilutes the foundation of Smart Working, which is trusting our people to get the job done, and to provide the flexibility they need to live their lives and achieve a better work-life balance. I'm afraid I can't comment on individual relationships with managers, but if you'd like to contact me by email (kirsty.adams@resourcesolutions) we can arrange a confidential conversation to explore some of the details. Many thanks, Kirsty Adams (Global HR Director, Resource Solutions)
