Pros

Free mini cereals with milk

Cons

Life on a type rope, you never knew which colleagues would be fired / made redundant on a weekly basis. We had a hiring freeze on the HSBC (How Simple Became Complicated as management called it) account and 70% of staff were let go. I went to Barclays although they had chosen another company to work so I was let go, no security and you feel like the poor cousin in the north from day 1.

Hello, and thanks for your candid review of working with us in Manchester. I'm sorry to hear that you had a poor experience of working with us for two of our longest-running client accounts. I'm afraid that we are not immune to market forces, and, if our clients' demands change, we have to adapt to those changes. That said, the unprecedented changes wrought by the pandemic meant that our common practice of reassigning people to different accounts simply wasn't possible. Every member of our Global Leadership Team regrets that, but we had to make many difficult decisions to ensure our business remained viable during 2020, and to safeguard as many critical functions as possible. Again, I regret that you had a poor experience in terms of job security. In terms of your other comments - without knowing the specifics that you allude to, I can't comment. However, if you would be willing to get in touch for a confidential conversation (kirsty.adams@resourcesolutions.com), I will do that I can to look into the matter further. Many thanks, Kirsty Adams (Global HR Director, Resource Solutions)

Pros

None, seriously!!! My clients are nice and professional. They offered to guide me through the process. I cant say the same with my RS colleagues in the client office.

Cons

I was literally thrown into the deep end with no mentoring/training whatsoever. When things go wrong, i am interogated like a criminal with threats of consequence management. Finger pointing culture - find the person to crucify first, without amy effort to splve the issue together Training of lack of it - largely done just to indemify the company. Merely gives the account director ammunition to say you shoild have known, because u attended training on this or that date. Quality of the training leavea a lot to be desired. Favortism - the pets get all the credit Lack of structure when it comes to team lead and staff communication. Lack of team work and sense of collaboration. Its every man for themselves.

Hello, and thank you for your review of working with Resource Solutions in Singapore. While it's good to hear your colleagues onsite were nice and professional, I'm concerned by your other comments. Our global Learning and Organisational Development team provides a wide variety of training, from specific recruitment skills to softer skills, such as negotiation and presentation. If you were not encouraged to engage with this training to a greater extent, that's disappointing. However, it's very worrying to hear your allegations about our culture. I can categorically assure you that Resource Solutions do not condone or operate with a blame culture. It's worrying and very disappointing to hear that some individuals have acted in this way, as it does not reflect our business and our culture. The current situation, with the pandemic and national lockdowns, has put a lot of pressure on our business and our people, and if that has come through in some unprofessional conduct, then I regret that. I would also be willing to have a confidential chat with you, to discuss your comments on our training and how we could do better with that, and also the specifics of the issues you faced. If you'd be willing to talk about it, please do contact me directly by email or on Workplace. Many thanks, Kirsty Adams (Global HR Director, Resource Solutions)

Pros

It's a great office to get a start in recruiting especially if you haven't had prior experience. Before joining RW SF, I was in a technical industry with no recruitment experience. They have a great team that coaches you through their process to be efficient and successful. I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with some of the fastest growing startups in the Bay Area. I was exposed to different industries, orgs, and leaderships that made me appreciate the value recruitment brings to these teams. This office is especially helpful to understand the SF market if you are a transplant and/or new to tech. Some of my favorite things about Robert Walters: - Great culture! They foster a collaborative culture where everyone is working together. People are always going out to events, HH, or just hanging out outside of work. - They teach you resilience. Recruiting can be tough sometimes but the team here is able to coach you through the lows so that you can come out on top while celebrating the highs so that you continue to chase that feeling. - The Robert Walters approach to recruitment is more strategic and high touch in comparison to other firms which is why the leadership here emphasizes quality over quantity. It really makes you take a step back to see the field as a chess board and how you can make the most out of each move. -

Cons

- They are currently in process of testing new platforms, but, during my time, their platform is pretty outdated. Don't get me wrong though! It works and works well, but it just isnt as intuitive and user friendly as some of the other software today. - This is still an agency and a sales job at the end of the day. You only get out as much as you put it and it can be tough. You have to hustle and have grit when it comes to recruitment. This is not a startup where you can relax and get by. Although it is not KPI driven, there are other metrics of success which reflect your hustle.
