      Pros

      GPON fiber to the home buildout in many major markets. Good pay.

      Cons

      Many good craft jobs have been eliminated and contracted out....Lineman, Construction Splicer, Facility Assigner, and I&R technicians. Unable to compete with CATV in many markets because of poor marketing, poor customer service, and unwillingness to maintain our network. Small budget to maintain copper facilities. GPON buildout done by contractors. Company doesn't give new technicians enough training before sending them out on their own. Employees are paying more of their healthcare premiums each year. For children+spouse health coverage next year I will be paying around $440/month out of pocket.

      Lower level management were hardworking & dedicated.

      Cons

      Leadership is a sinking ship. Promote secretary to directors, thus lack of knowledge or skills. Pay and bonus was lowered every year while top leadership got big bonuses Appraisal system is a Bell Curve, no matter how good your people were

      Note: All pros and cons are of "Centurylink India, Noida" 1. Enough time for self-study. 2. You will find co-workers more friendly. 3. You can discuss your problems with the manager but remember they are not going to be fixed. 4. Cab facility. 5. Seats are big enough.

      1. If you want to do programming this is not the correct place. 2. Growth?! what's that? 3. Intelligent peers are rare. 4. Timing might be flexible but you cannot choose it. 5. No food !! 6. No cutting technology. 7. Only carrom and chess as games. 8. Oh! I forget an important thing your workstation will be a piece of junk(core2duo are you kidding me?! You can buy that processor with just Rs700). 9. And many more...
