Pros

There is a decent employee discount.

Cons

MANAGEMENT. They do not have your best interest at heart and will only look out for themselves at the end of the day. This is the review that you have been looking for. (FYI: they go around the office telling people to post good reviews) Anyways, NO GROWTH opportunities and LOW PAY. There is no respect and they make even the best employees feel replaceable. HR will not help you so don't even bother trying. Just because it's a "start up" does not mean the issues should be dismissed!

Employee product discount, casual dress code

Cons

Severe lack of talent and organization. Department to department goals are not aligned, often causing other teams projects to impede on another’s. Less than competent departmental leadership who are usually only in their positions due to tenure rather than talent or ability. Company preaches the “egoless environment” but I’ve never seen bigger egos in my life. The same leaders love to push back on innovative tools or projects they don’t understand simply out of fear of change or because they like to hear themselves say no. Favouritism and cliques as bad as in a 7th grade schoolyard. Good luck during performance reviews, as they are done on a literal bell curve. Employees are told to “strive for a 3”, but only those given 4.5 or above will receive title bumps and/or raises that even meet inflation. Not to mention that being in the cliques and Cool Kids Club makes one more eligible for a rating above a 3. No leeway for employees to advocate for themselves regarding salary or title bumps. Upper management preaches their love of feedback, yet when it’s given, they hold meetings to tell employees why they shouldn’t feel that way rather than ingesting the feedback and making any meaningful change. Very much a culture of one team’s lack of planning being offloaded as an emergency on another team’s part.

Pros

-25-75% discount -Benefits include: health and PTO -Employees who have worked at the company for four years and have consistently exceeded expectations may be eligible for a sabbatical.

Cons

HelloFresh has failed to address a culture of toxicity and unprofessional leadership that continues to negatively impact our lower-level employees and passed down to all departments in some way, but seems to filter quickly to marketing. HR’s inaction on this matter is deeply concerning and echo'd in the cookiecutter response HR provides on all reviews here on GD. Despite anonymous engagement surveys highlighting these issues, management has chosen to publicly question the results rather than taking proactive steps to improve the workplace. Sr Marketing Director asked our team for additional surveys only for those results to disappear as quickly as they were compiled. Furthermore, career advancement opportunities at HelloFresh appear to be heavily influenced by favoritism, and the annual raises (if) offered are insufficient to keep pace with rising living costs. Due to a challenging job market, many employees continue to endure toxic and unprofessional management/leadership at HelloFresh.
