Pros

Great company. Stock does really well. Love the people. Paid well.

Cons

Essilor of America is doing a large layoff this morning of only American employees. No French expats were terminated because Essilor is French owned. Most all of the layoffs are long term, upper level and older aged employees.

Pros

Compensation including benefit programs are at market level a

Cons

Where to begin? If you just do a little research on Essilor-Luxottica merger, you will get a feel for how things work at Essilor. Management team do not collaborate internally and they do not work well across Essilor and Luxottica teams either (i.e. stock is down over $10 since public fighting has started). Company sold everyone this merger was good for employees, which was another lie from management. Company culture is very French and all teams are being replaced by French management. Future opportunities are very limited.

Pros

Salary. Most direct reports and peers and comparative Benefits. Industry giant poised for growth. Products best in class. Brands have good reputation amongst professionals.

Cons

Executives. French company whose expacs on VP level don't do anything. Unhealthy culture. Silos. Backstabbing. Junior high mentality from the top down. Elitism. Narcissistic executive and Vice President level. Passive aggressive culture. Very slow to change. Doesn't measure outcomes of projects consistently. Poor communication and collaboration. Male dominated at the top.
