Great team and freedom, but tough scheduling issues

Direct manager and team (visual) was amazing, looked forward to coming in to work. They gave me freedom with directives and trusted my eye for design, loved working independently

Cons

Scheduling - when working last, I was finishing up college, which the store manager knew and would schedule me late nights and early mornings. One time I got scheduled to close and stay till 10, then come in at 6am the next day - was so exhausted. BoH team took advantage of me sometimes and I had to cover their tasks for entire shifts

Pros

I like my team, they actually do care except for the few that call out once a week. The product and displays are exquisite.

Cons

It's a very odd place. If you can sell a credit card you are way more valued than someone who can sell a $1000 espresso machine, and then maybe a $3000 sofa. But "did you get the card?" they will ask. . It does not compute that having a crate card means nothing when the customer already has platinum and gold cards that offer better rewards. It simply is not the be all end all in their wallet, at least in the Boston region. However, they are on the hook to present numbers on a daily basis so they ratchet up the pressure because it's all in the numbers.

Great hours, discount, 401K benefits, great staff, flexibel time offs.

Cons

It seemed one manager would allow her customers to have first preference on items that came in on the new shipments vs putting them on the floor for the general public. Plus she bended the rules for them as well allowing longer hold times and other things. This issue was never addressed by the store manager which was not appropriate.
