Pros

- Great idea to start a business in insurtech given the market focus in this area

Cons

- Poor strategy formulation with no consideration to market demand, competitor offerings and differentiation - Even poorer execution of strategy and communication e.g. frequent changes in internal team structures - Senior management of the Insuretech business has no background in insurance and very poor understanding of the insurance market and their specific challenges - To make matters worse the senior management are not very good at listening to suggestions from people they recruit and takes decisions in isolation - Extremely diversified business with no clear focus. The business serves as the IT department of CT group plus caters for external clients

Many thanks for this feedback. Firstly, we are sorry that your experience was not as you expected during your time with Charles Taylor InsureTech. We have been working hard to develop Charles Taylor InsureTech since we launched in 2015 and our entrepreneurial approach is now achieving significant business success. We have recruited Practice Directors for all insurance lines, all of whom have deep insurance expertise. We have clearly focused our insurance technology business strategy. This strategy is delivering exciting results and we have won high value multi-year, multi-country contracts. We have been appointed by the London Market Group to deliver a delegated authority solution to Lloyd's and London company insurance markets as well as brokers and coverholders worldwide. We have been appointed to upgrade the core operating platform by a top four life, general and health insurer across five countries in Latin America with an option on a further four. And we have been selected by one of the world’s largest employee benefit (re)insurance providers on the first phase of a project to transform its technology infrastructure. We believe that Charles Taylor InsureTech offers an exciting and growing opportunity for specialist technology professionals in the insurance sector.

Pros

Everyone seems to go for 3 hour lunches and its no big deal. Friendly after work drinking culture. Great new offices. Good health care and share option packages. Pension scheme also good.

Cons

Nepotism! You can forget trying to get promoted unless you are connected. It's not about working hard or being talented i. They value white middle class public school boys and seem to fast track them. There was a massive 'diversity drive' just to tick the boxes but the reality is they were never being promoted. They seem to recruit anyone who is someones son or daughter. Senior management treat the junior staff very badly. Pay is extremely poor and below market compared to other clubs. No inflationary pay. No pay rises or bonuses for the last two years unless you are senior management.
