Pros

They have improved their benefits and has a more professional feel in the new office space

Cons

You are either in the clique or not. Has a toxic environment across most functions and the good, professional people tend to leave within 18 months to 2 years once they have the experience on their CV. Very little is done to address the root cause of problems, instead they ‘wallpaper over the cracks.’ There is a lot of potential with people, and teams, but this is never realised due to the work environment. A culture of being a drinking buddy is preferred over those who offer innovative strategic ideas.

Pros

You'll learn how an IT department shouldn't be managed.

Cons

The CIO of the IT departmentor CEO of Insuretech, as he has spun it, literally knows nothing about project management, but knows how to project a great looking CV. Be prepared to come into the office to find a role out has taken place without any notice or meaningful pre-testing. You'll be responsible for picking up the pieces without being told anything of what has actually been attempted. The management will throw you too the wolves to cover their backs without a second thought. This includes apprentices whom I feel really sorry for. There is a culture of finding someone to blame rather then finding a solution to problems There is no culture of documentation or procedure. If you want to find information, you will need to make various enquiries every time. There is no meaningful HR department as they are only interested in procurement, which is just as well as they are forever looking for replacement staff. Do not do this to yourself. You deserve better.
