It is important to note that YVR airport provides the option to re-take the practical testing within 7 days of training starting. Air Canada's trainers however conduct the practical drivers test and only give you one chance to pass. They will not give a second chance despite the allowance by YVR. I myself received a score of 100% on the knowledge test after studying for the test only to fail the first practical drivers test on a technicality at the near the end of the test. In my opinion only one chance is given due to the number of applicants in each class exceeding 30 and the company not wanting to spend the additional funds or time to conduct driving tests on the other persons who fail the first time. My advice to people considering applying to this job without any airside experience should consider whether or not they truly believe they will be successful in passing an airside driving test on the first try without any driving practice. If your not successful your basically screwed. The failure rate for the practical test is high. The knowledge test is easy if you put the time in to study.

In my 35 years of working experience, this is the worst management I ever encountered. They treat you like enemies, if they don’t like you, they will kill you! If you wanna experience what chinada is, go join them, the current management team will treat you like crazy no respect from the top to the bottom, managers don’t respect the staff, they gave you letters like no tomorrow, then they build the case from there. It’s frustrating dealing with this kind of management, they never encourage the staff if you do something wrong they punish discipline you. Agents are scared all the time, management backstabbing the agents, so many bad things, can’t finish all at once.
