Pros

Great benefits. Great coworkers. Though the salary is not that high, expense money is not taxed and can be saved up, also, can max up salary by doing extra work up to a maximum of 100 hrs total flying per month.

Cons

It can take a long time to gain enough seniority for this job to be worthwhile. Becoming completely fluent in other languages helps a lot, with fluency in three languages and I was senior enough to hold international flying within less than 2 years. You are only paid for airtime, so it is important to hold flying with long hours. If you go to the airport, spend an hour prepping flight documents, spend another hour and a half boarding, spend half an hour deplaning passengers, that is 3.5 hours that were absolutely not paid not even a dime. If you are only willing to be fluent in one or two languages it may not be that great of a job.

Pros

I take pride in working for an airline that ranks pretty well in the ratings and I took this job because I wanted structure. However, as an employee, I have learned things are not as they are presented to you in rankings, Top Employer sites and even during the interview process. This is a great job for a student, just out of school, still living with their parents and are looking to start off a career with a company that holds the description of «corporate culture». Benefits are good but if you take certain medication, be sure to read the benefits package carefully as some things are NOT covered. Awesome travel benefits (once you pass your 6 month probation), if you can use them. If you survive the probationary period, you learn that the job is ok, despite the schedule, environment is laid back and there are always things going on. You're provided points to nominate fellow colleagues, which can be redeemed for merchandise. The cafeteria offers a wide range of food choices at reasonable prices. Most important, FREE parking and an on-site gym!

Cons

Customer service (call centre) training lasts 14 weeks and the salary is $14/hour (below market trend for the airline industry and involves lots of at-home learning). Passing grades on exams and assessments are 80%. You are allowed 1 retake. If you fail the retake, you are FIRED. Each retake, on the course of the training, constitutes an «NI» (needs improvement). If you obtain 3 NIs in the same category, you are FIRED. Other categories include lateness/absences, dress code, etc. If you have several doctors appointments, you are told to change the dates, despite having mentioned it during the interview process and being told it is OK. If you accumulate 3 absences = 3 NIs, despite the doctor's note, you are FIRED. A total of 5 NIs guarantees you are....take a guess..... fired. Having a car is necessary as the location is in the middle of nowhere and there are no buses evenings and weekends. At the beginning, schedule is lousy but improves with seniority. This is definitely not a job for an experienced employee. Your salary starts at $14 and no consideration is given to your years of experience, even if you know more than the trainers. Trainers are young and lack the knowledge and professionalism to offer a proper training. Also, check your payroll carefully. Mistakes happen frequently!
