Pros

Fun environment Teaches great communication skills Hanging out with guests and styling them

Cons

Not enough pay for the amount of work that one needs to do. The hours are terrible, and the company frequently cuts hours. At my boutique, we have about 8 stylists and everyone gets 4 hours a week. Obviously this forces people to get other jobs in order to make an income. You have to be fake and pushy in order to make sales. The items are very cheaply made and very expensive. Not a great discount. You are constantly judged and feel pressure while working. The boutiques no longer have the freedom to make their stores unique, and even the stores are in competition at all times. Always have to kiss up to someone.

Pros

Great location, great clothes, Learning opening and closing procedures.

Cons

Communication at management level was very slim. If you’re not best friends with your co workers & managers they’ll either cut your hours or demote you for payroll. A manager just pulled me to the side one day and said that she was cutting my shifts after having a talk with another manager. I didn’t have anytime to productively fix their problems (which was nothing). Also since i started there the first week it was a toxic environment that involved a-lot of gossiping. And the managers would team up and change rules until the district manager did her visits. They make you do the Francesca’s Promise and you have to give your manager their name? What are they shopping for in the store? What did we perfect pair them with in the fitting room? It’s very uncomfortable and intrusive, most people just want to be left alone in stores. Also they force you to get every guest name, email, and phone number for guest capture. It’s also very intrusive for asking so much from our guest who don’t wanna give out their information. All in all don’t work for this company there’s no benefits and the pay is little, also they ask for way too much for such little salary.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, great work life balance, if you do your job well you do not need to be there more than 40 hours a week. Lots of opportunity for growth within the BTL role, allowing you take on higher volume locations and potentially be given new roles such as NBOL and training BTL. DTL and RTL are great and if you make an effort to build a relationship with them, they will take care of you.

Cons

Incredibly difficult if not impossible to move beyond the BTL level. Benefits are not competitive and you will take a massive cut in all benefits to join this company. Incredibly hard to staff boutique with low pay scales and interview process for internal and external candidates.
