Pros

Decent pay (besides the industry low base)

Cons

DO NOT WORK HERE. This company was toxic from the start. It all started fine with training. The training was a state of the art training that was led by a great salesperson. As soon as I got out of training I started making a realization that the job is not at all what was advertised by the recruiter. Long hours. Management wants you working however many hours it takes to get the job done. We had random calendar invites to start working at 7am and then expecting us to work until about 8pm. 125+ Calls a day and if you don’t get a certain amount of demos booked they will throw an inviting saying that we are required to work later. Just don’t go to this place. You can find a company that will treat you right and probably pay you way more.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We’re glad to hear that your training when you started at ZoomInfo was stellar! As a company we put a lot of time and effort into the creation of our training materials and programs, and we invest heavily into the success of our new hires. The nature of the Sales Development Representative role is that it is volume-based; however, you will get out of it what you put in. Being an SDR with us is an excellent way to start a career in tech sales – we see many SDRs promoted to Account Executives within a year, and in fact, we have several employees in leadership positions who began their careers with us as SDRs. We wish you the best in your new adventure and hope that the training you received at ZoomInfo will add to your success in your next role! - ZoomInfo Employee Experience Team

Pros

Can make pretty good money if you work insane hours - thats the only pro

Cons

Such a misalignment between SDR or and Account Executives This isn't a software product its a contact database - if you are looking for software sales this is not the right company Extremely stressful work environment and you are constantly pressured to make an absurd amount of phone calls every single day - if you want to hit accelerators you have to make 130+ calls every single day its not worth the effort for the money you make There is zero guidance from management on how to prospect or find new leads

Pros

ZoomInfo has a fantastic SDR program and is a great place to start your career. Those who had success in the program would go into a full sales cycle role on the new business core product team and continue to have success. You have plenty of options along with upward mobility. Management will allow you to change positions. Unlimited PTO and benefits are great. There is flexibility with working from home but that seems to be changing. Coworkers would not hesitate to help out or provide tips if you are struggling. There is team culture.

Cons

What started as a great opportunity turned sour upon joining an emerging product team. I would have a new manager every month. The compensation at ZoomInfo along with base pay is not in line with other companies within the industry. The quotas were confusing and it appeared that even management did not have an understanding of how reps would earn commission. Reps would lie on Salesforce reports and inflate their number. Those that didn't were rewarded with an increase in their numbers and halving of their percentage earned on deals. Your accounts and territories change every couple of weeks. Multiple SDRs, AEs, and AMs could be working on your accounts. The relationship with customers is more pump and dump than building.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. It’s great to hear that you found success starting as an SDR and moving into an account executive role, but I’m disappointed that your experience on the emerging products team was not positive. We take all feedback seriously, and this is helpful to understand our reps’ pain points so we can continuously improve our employee experience. Many of our emerging products came to us through acquisitions, and we can definitely do a better job organizing our sales motions there. The goal is to build high functioning teams with empowered individuals who feel confident and supported in hitting their number. I am committed to making sure we get there. One last thing I’d like to address regarding your work from home comment. We recently welcomed employees at our four largest U.S. office locations back to the office one day per week. So far, it’s been a success and I’ve personally loved seeing everyone in person again. Thanks again for sharing your perspectives, I value your opinion and appreciate your candor. Best of luck in your next career move! -Michael Maimone, ZoomInfo Vice President of Sales
