Pros

Focuses on fostering internal talent, have a lot of programs in place to make employees feel valuable and included, clearly defined goals and values for employees to follow after.

Cons

Due to many tiers of hierarchy, projects/certain requests can sometimes take a bit long to progress.

Pros

I was hired as a CONTRACTOR for Zimmer Biomet. Zimmer Biomet is undergoing a very large remediation program called Project Polaris. Basically hiring a bunch of contractors through various job titles but you're all basically doing the same thing at a high level: revamping their design control methods to bring them up to FDA standard. This type of work is great for entry level engineers trying to get into med device industry and are struggling, but there are lots of pros and cons. -Experience is good. If you stay there long enough, you'll have exposure to pretty much all aspects of medical device lifecycle. -Everyone there is a recent grad. This may be a pro or con depending who you are, but the average age of the people working on the project is pretty low. -Management is pretty laid back. Dress code is lax and work environment is chill.

Cons

-The job is in Warsaw, Indiana. Do yourself a favor before you accept a position here and actually visit the area. Its a small town with not much to do. Fort Wayne, South Bend, Chicago, and Indianapolis are all relatively close by (1-3 hours), but you'd be hard pressed to find much to do in Warsaw. Very small and gloomy town especially in the winter. -The work is BORING. Obviously this is subjective. But the work is mainly doing documentation for their existing medical devices. Lots of technical writing, not a lot of hands-on and not very social. Not a lot of creative work and you'll be at your desk pretty much the entire day. Again it is good experience, but the work you'll be doing isn't very exciting unless you're really into orthopedics. -The entire project is pretty much run through external temp agencies, meaning benefits are really bad if offered at all (No PTO). -Since a lot of the employees are contractors, not a lot of effort is made in the vetting process. Some people are therefore just not qualified to be doing their jobs. -Employee retention is a joke and its not really held as a secret. These jobs can be done by anyone who is a hard-worker. No opportunities for advancement either.

Pros

The ONLY pros here; Benefits and salary

Cons

MANY broken promises (make sure you have EVERYTHING in writing, to the point of even writing your work hours in your contract), extreme poor management (if any), no appreciation for the value you bring to the team and absolutely zero room to move up even when you're told there is. This company works off dictatorship only; If there's any kind of issue whatsoever in your work environment - make sure not to say a thing to management because they couldn't care less and they will twist it to reprimand you for whatever it is. This company doesn't take ownership for it's own mistakes and they'd rather ignore any issues going on. I made the mistake of leaving a great job for this one. They will say anything they can to get you on their team, and once you join, you're dust to them.
