Pros

Most employees are very talented and friendly. Good company on your resume, but remember you are just a number. You may have a long and successful career if you agree with dated management, policies, and procedures.

Cons

If you get the wrong management and lackluster internal team, you are in for quite a surprise. Turner Construction cares more about its bottom line than its employees' success or progression. They do a great job advertising their mission of DE&I. However, this performative activism is misleading to people unaware of what Turner prioritizes. The all-mighty dollar. You must be the perfect "Stepford wife" or cookie-cutter person. If you think independently, you become the problem, and everyone will see you as such. I have seen many good employees get terminated for thinking or doing something that was not the TURNER WAY.

Good in some aspects

Pros

-Overall a good company which makes an effort to care for employees. -Variety of projects and ability to travel. -Lots of training offered (too much at times) -Some good benefits (vision is the best), vacation and holidays are great (11 holidays + your birthday or company anniversary off).

Cons

-Lack of diversity in most business unit leadership. It’s a glass ceiling even with all the rhetoric they claim. -Tout a lot about “active caring” but that’s not truly happening. People don’t speak up since retaliation is real. Discriminatory comments and actions common place on projects and within business units. -People are overworked so employee burnout common. -High turnover right now and they’re not working hard to retain good workers. -Not flexible with WFH (allowed all during height of COVID and was successful, but then took away with lame excuses. Now doing a “test” which only allows 1-2 days, while select people have free reign. Bogus and unfair). -Could have much better dental insurance, and better healthcare provider for medical (UHC is horrible to deal with).

Pros

Most people who work for Turner are extremely hardworking and smart, nice elements for collaboration. The name Turner will open doors for new employers.

Cons

Expect to wear multiple hats during your career, even though title is specific. Work life balance is non-existent if you are a field staff. Overworked and underpaid became a realization once the pandemic began. Management does not appreciate your ability to wear multiple hats. Opportunities are not only NOT available, but to get them you have to wait your turn, because Management will always cater to the demographic that looks like them. This BU is losing women and people of color at a high rate.
