Pros

Excellent people and interesting business lines. Many long term employees. Good rapport with individuals across the country makes it pleasant to work at TransCore.

Cons

As with many companies, the processes and organization could be better defined. There seems to be a lack of consistency across some of the basic business administration sides, but it seems to be progressing to a more uniform approach. If you are looking for a military or government style with documented structure, TransCore is probably not for you. But if you are ambitious and a self-starter, you will like it.

Pros

The people are top notch, skilled developers. The work environment is excellent. They are an agile shop and take agile development seriously.

Cons

Corporate politics and programmers with an ego can get in the way. If the business has a downturn, they will cut people without notice.

Pros

Good Hours Better than being unemployed

Cons

Where do I start......First this company's EZ Pass department has been contracted out by the State of Pennsylvania. Transcore has then contracted out their staffing for their customer service call centers to 2 staffing companies. Although the job is 40 hours, the pay starts out at $10 an hour which is on the low end of what a good customer service agent should make. In fact, the management doesn't care or reward good people who provide excellent customer service, they would rather praise representatives who are mean and rude to the public because they feel the more calls that are taken is more important than helping someone who may have a question or a problem. Unfortunately the State of PA has turned a blind eye to Transcore and would rather that people who travel the PA Turnpike be made to feel as if they have committed a capital crime if they miss a toll or have a question about EZ Pass because they plain may not know or are visitors from out of state.
