Toxic Hierarchical Politics, Especially HR

Pros

- Good benefits (pre covid) Employee discount, Health and Wellbeing cash subsidy - Good relocation package and above market rate salary - Strong brand, many great products to try - Central location of office

Cons

- Some directors are abusive and openly harass their employees verbally. Worse is HR take their side and turn a blind eye. Seems to be very common in many teams. - Some directors seem unqualified for technical roles, absolutely know nothing and lead the team blindly but take all the credits, analysts work their butts off for them , do their job in the mean time, make them look good then get passed up for promotion because their boss is afraid that they will get replaced. Many bad hires were taken just to fill turnover. - No work life balance even if you insist. Requests come late at night and weekends. You’re expected to work everyday of the week. - Very very high turnover. People leave every other week. Will not recommend

Toxic environment

Business Outlook

Pros

Gratis, ability to quickly learn and gain exposure to full business.

Cons

Work life balance was almost non existent, complete toxic environment where management plays chess with employees careers and only promote their friends. Nearly impossible to get ahead as all promotions are pre-determined and managers only promote those within their own departments. VP and senior management have no external experience, so processes never improve as they can’t relate to how things are done at more efficient companies. Planner job is essentially a “jack of all trades” role.

Pros

Good benefits, 21 days of AL. Some people are interesting, passionate and smart.

Cons

Wow I don't even know where to start. - Horrible top/senior management who are only in there for their portfolio, the MD clearly doesn't give a damn about the people, is highly biased and yet expects the company to come together as one - Infighting in leadership team is so bad that it affects the people on the ground and hinders us from doing our jobs (which we will then get blamed for) - Pervasive blame culture, the fist reaction is to look for a scapegoat and not a solution - They say they welcome feedback but most do not and are so sensitive, people have to walk on eggshells around them. - Not sure what HR is doing, feels like they only listen to people in positions of power - Lack of communication between leadership team and the rest of the company regarding company wide changes and impacts. Decisions are made 99% of the time without consulting anybody else or giving a heads up, employees are expected to roll with it. - Very low morale in the company due to the high attrition rate, politics and general toxic environment - even the hr team has people leaving almost every month yet nobody brings it up. - Lack of career progression - Many incompetent or plain stupid people are hired and promoted due to connections and not because of their merits - No sense of ownership - Management there suck up to each other, they are codependent, condescending and many are incompetent
