Pros

-Pay, in appliances, is better than I could be making anywhere else. -Allow time off when I need it. -Work around college schedule. -Appliance manager is best manager I've ever worked for.

Cons

-Pressure to sell protection agreements. -Will constantly point out when your numbers are bad for a month or two, but when they're above absolutely no recognition is given. -Bickering among managers. -Most managers refuse to help associates not in their department, unless they are the ONLY ones on duty after 2 or 3 pages. -Getting yelled at by management when you need in a lockup to check for an item. -Store manager works about 20 hours a week...joke of a manager. -Constantly having to give out/call hotline numbers because apparently nothing can be resolved in store unless we break a rule. -District Manager has a Napoleon complex. Will make a major change one week, change it back the next, and decide he liked it better when it was different and make us change it once again. -Constantly explaining to customers our fine print. -Getting yelled at when delivery/install/repair falls through. Our 3rd party delivery group is good, our installer has caused me 7 of the 8 install sales I've had in the last 3 months. -Morale is horrible, and the response is "just work through it." We actually have a giant "Because We Care..." board in our break room where we can make suggestions or just point things out. "Spot light in hardware end cap is out" has been sitting in the "Because we care..." area for about 8 months now...and yes, the light is still out.

Pros

Option to telecommute from home Project involving various technologies. Good job for entry level graduates Coworkers are nice Nice to have Sears name on you resume.

Cons

1) Pay is not good. Not even compatible to other companies in the market 2) There are no promotions based on performance but rather how swiftly you can butter your boss 3) No praise or good work or projects done 4) Online business unit is terrible. There is no work life balance at all . You will be working 24/7 without any raise or appreciations.

Pros

Flexible Schedules Decent people (co-workers and customers) Not terribly stressful depending on your position A good way to build tolerance for dealing with unpleasant people

Cons

No raises ( when we used to get them they were no more than 25 cents a year) little encouragement or appreciation. Though that is subjective to the store and district I'm sure. Everyone goes crazy when preparing for a visit, but then let the store go back to disarray when the visit is over. Not a career (this being said by the guy who's worked there for over 6 years)
