Pros

Good cause surrounded by passionate individuals, lots of trainings and tools.

Cons

No work life balance whatsoever and the owner in particular does not let other professionals take the reigns in the areas she specifically hired them for. I can’t count how many times people were unable to succeed in their jobs because the owner in her sleep would think she came up with the best idea over one that has been strategized for weeks by professionals in their specialties. There were amazing people who dropped like flies out of the company cause of the abuse and disconnect from upper management. You might like working here for a while and you endure the authoritarian leadership for the love of doing something good for clients, in the end though you’ll just be disappointed in how they handle their employees.

Worst Job I've Ever Had.

Pros

I cannot in good conscience say there are any.

Cons

Passive aggressive and unsupportive management, chaotic schedules, being thrown under the bus by superiors when things don't work out because of higher up issues, no work life balance, unrealistic expectations. The nice reviews you see are current managers trying to keep staff. I was mandated to work overtime even when I specifically asked if this was the case, was told no, then mandated to pick up more shifts. Within the mandated overtime, I needed to complete job duties I was not fully trained on that I wasn't aware I'd be needing to pick up due to their inability to keep Direct Care staffed, because it is dangerous and they have no care for their employees quality of life. SLS has it's own problems, such as work calls and texts being routed through your direct phone (I have been woken up by clients texting and calling at 3 AM) use of your own car (I put 20,000 miles on mine in 6 months) but the chaos in Direct Care touches everyone, and doesn't seem to be looking to be resolved any time soon. Avoid this job.

Pros

The mission of the organization is noble and important. I completely respect and appreciate what employees are doing for people with disabilities and behavioral issues. Frankly, this why I wanted to work here.

Cons

The CEO is toxic. Her personality is vitriolic and she clearly lacks the ability to understand people emotionally. More importantly, she is just very bad at managing people. She clearly is ambitious, and her work ethic is admirable, but you do not want to work for her.
