Pros

Excellent opportunity to work with individuals living with special needs.

Cons

Chaotic! Multiple job titles and job responsibilities with lack of streamlined efficiency. Requires each staff member to incur individual risk during transportation, direct care activities and tracking individual clients records.

Pros

Literally none. You get to drive around endlessly all day so at least you get a coffee break...?

Cons

This was the worst place I worked. Two years later I still have flashbacks. Abusive management, underpaid, gaslit, overworked, unsafe conditions, unrealistic expectations. Doing busy work disguised as 'helping people'. Was literally told by my manager to 'find anything' to bill for. I was getting paid the same amount as the girls who had bachelors and masters in social work, and I just have previous experience. Poverty. Completely unprepared and not trained or qualified to do the dangerous day program work they wanted me to work overtime to do, and I wasn't even hired for that position, yet was constantly having to work on the weekend on my own role because they can't keep help at Day Program because it's dangerous, and we had to fill in. Beware.

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to creating a comfortable, transparent, and collaborative environment for all of our employees. We regret that you did not feel equipped for your position and that you feel management did not meet your expectations. As a company we are always thinking about ways we can adapt and do more. We continue to improve our standard training program that every employee completes before being asked to work in the capacity they were hired for. Furthermore, we have implemented several Employee engagement strategies focused on two-way communication, ongoing development opportunities, and yearly reviews and raises. Additionally, because our mission is to integrate our individuals receiving services into the community we do not spend time at a facility based day program. We support our individuals in volunteer activities, visiting community sites, and utilizing resources like public parks and libraries. This does mean time spent in vehicles moving from location to location. We value and consider all constructive feedback, and want to encourage you to offer more specific information regarding your concerns by emailing feedback@samplesupports.com.
