Quest has asked employees to leave a good review

Pros

You have unlimited time off

Cons

The company asked for us to leave a good review so I probably shouldn't say anything bad. We have more directors than a movie set. We have no HR department, atleast thats my outlook as I've never spoken to someone I've only received an email that says your issue is resolved, but it never is resolved. You will be asked to go above and beyond, but paid the same. When you refuse , you are not a team player, and become stuck forever, lose/lose. Corporate greed highly outweighs company culture. The S in Quest should be replaced with a $. Maybe it will, the marketing department gets to rebrand the letter Q every year.

Pros

Quest truly strives for a diverse workplace. Being a Medicare payee, Quest also has strong compliance governance and lives it. Quest is patient and provider driven without a doubt. The amount of care the Quest support team takes to resolve and solve problems is exemplary. Quest has continually made improvements in employee education and a more robust performance management system. Recent improvements include opportunities to take time off as needed with manager approval and a number of positions allow some work-from home, improving work/life balance. Many talented people with great ideas working within a huge operation can make a difference and are empowered to do so.

Cons

In some segments of the Quest organization, specifically IT from my experience but certainly others, the turnover for senior leadership is very high. Old but good ideas are often quashed by new leadership. then to be revived again by the next leader. The problem is there is generally a short-sighted elimination of essential employees between such change of hands in leadership and the hard work done prior to reinvigorated ideas is lost as those employees and systems are turned over. It feels like Groundhog Day sometimes, especially being a long-term employee that went through 6-7 major reorganizations. The result is that Quest does not adjust well to new technology or set a trend, even though they have enormous influence and information to leverage. With that, a sense of paranoia about job security can accumulate if you've been with Quest for a while.

a culture of patriarchy with no end in sight

Pros

Base pay + benefits including free lab testing a click that works for existing ? tenured employees who have spent 10+ years; they move around the org easily enough

Cons

Terrible culture of patriarchy and tenure that extends into HR. the only folks that thrive are the 15-20+ yr tenured folks as they would be too expensive to let go. leadership is steeped in yesterdays passive work and resist change and innovation; Quest is exhibit A where plenty of incompetent men are in leadership roles, get hired with zero experience and and continue to get promoted with a thriving boys club. Top down culture hence there is group think in all areas. Not an innovative , future driven organization that will transform in any way with changing times. Terrible IT infrastructure and not set up for any kind of transformation let alone digital / cloud/ AI continue with the same test volume mentality and refuse to innovate and offer new solutions to customers core health systems business churn
