Started excellent and very rapidly crashed into the ground
Pros
The teams outside of the PMO were always a pleasure to work with. Franchises are very passionate about their goal of developing products to help patients. Database team is very knowledgeable and friendly, willing to help with anything you need, even outside of their work area. 401k match is good, though you must wait a year for matching. All lab work ordered by your doctor is free if performed at a Quest location.
Cons
Things were excellent for about a year and quickly fell off a cliff around August 2022 when the PMO reorganized. The former director left for a different position in the company and several middle managers were added to fill the void, but they could not. They implemented vast process changes without notice and began immediately scolding those who did not abide, even though we were unaware of the changes. The new management showed no interest in project progress or outcomes, but only wanted to make sure that all the tracking database was up-to-date and all change requests were filed in a timely manner. They did not care if the situation was uncertain, made no attempt to understand why dates may be missed, and offered no support to correct issues. The new management team was clearly very a "profits over people" mindset. This was solidified when it was announced in October 2022 that there would be layoffs, but never any indication of how many people would be lost. After the entire IT development team was laid off and replaced with offshore contractors, a "voluntary retirement" program was offered, and after not enough people volunteered, there were several rounds of firings which are ongoing to this day (mid-January 2023). Over 50% of the HTAS team has been let go as of my resignation. As a result, all projects have been significantly delayed due to lack of resources and there is no attempt to replace these resources or display empathy for the project issues. You are still subject to constant scrutiny for projects being late, despite not having resources to complete the work, and not receiving notice that your team has been fired. You are no longer a priority to this management team, they are only looking to cover themselves from the incoming CEO.
