Pros

Great pay out of college with fantastic relocation compensation and a signing bonus. This isn't some 100% commission sales job--you'll get a healthy base pay, good benefits, and have the potential to earn quite a bit of money.

Cons

"Are you meeting your plan? You're not? How are you going to make plan? Propose more sales" - Management, every day Lots of pressure on each local office to make some very ambitious sales plans. You're encouraged to get proposals out the door, but if you value the customer relationships you've built, you'll want to think twice before sending out that door operator replacement proposal. Regional management doesn't care about the challenges in your local market, and they'll push you to try to sell products/services that are totally irrelevant to anywhere but Mid-town Manhattan. Smile and nod, be enthusiastic, and then go manage your territory and customers with integrity.

Pros

- Location (Farmington, CT) - Large parent company (UTC) - Great name tags - Friendly cafeteria staff - Week off from Christmas to New Years (this will soon be taken away, if it hasn't been already)

Cons

- Top Heavy - Ethics communicated, but not followed - Nepotism/Favorites - Mgmt confusion (across board) - Minimal increases (2% pool) - False reality - Educational program, but advancement disconnect - ACE inconsistent - No loyalty - Dog eat dog mentality - Finds ingenious ways to take away every employee perk

Pays 100% for furthering your education Impressive and detailed training program Safety program is 2nd to none

Cons

No such thing as thinking for yourself. Get used to strictly following processes or find another job. Management has a quick trigger on firing tenured employees. "what have you done for me lately" Objective: make profits. Customer service, contractual obligations, and morals mean nothing. They paint a picture that they are competitive in compensation and bonuses, but there is no truth to that. There are several shades of gray on compensation that only benefit the bottom line. Upper management promotes a hostle environment.
