Pros

Playing company softball is fun.

Cons

No advancement, no raises, and no performance reviews. The employee self-seervice website to try to apply to jobs or sign up for trainings is beyond confusing. Our raises were determined on criteria that was never actually explained to us and only half of the analysts got raises.

Pros

Superiors are eager to help you learn and advance; rewards and promotions are granted based on performance, not politics; pay structure is fair.

Cons

Very long hours, especially during the busy season. If you are using this job as a portal to move into the field of HR, beware - everyday tasks are very technical and you will have little interaction with others. This is very much a backroom job (for me this really wasn't a "con,' though).

Pros

Mercer has great benefits and the employees are all great to work with. Almost 3 weeks of paid vacations and holidays.

Cons

Management's lack of ownership and support. Some employees are not fairly compensated for their hard work and there is no justification as to why not.
