Pros

Some coworkers ( this does not include the general manager or district manager they are quite the opposite) are supportive and empathetic, creating small pockets of solidarity. Employee discount on products. The brand itself has potential if it truly aligned its actions with its stated values.

Cons

Toxic work culture – leadership fosters hostility, fear, and disconnection rather than teamwork. Lack of support for employee well-being – especially harmful for those with health needs or during pregnancy. Punitive management style – employees are disciplined for raising valid concerns instead of being heard. Inconsistent and misleading communication – creates confusion and distrust across the team. No accountability from leadership – repeated failures to take responsibility for harm caused. Profit over people mentality – employees treated as disposable parts, morale severely damaged. High turnover – good people leave not from inability but from the unsustainable environment.

Pros

Good floor/stylist team. Great education on Jewellery and in-house learning program to study about everything from sustainable production or materials to quality of stones which is great if you want to progress in the jewellery industry.

Cons

- Head office refuses to give most staff the protection of a full time contracts despite staff working near 40 hours a week. This allows them to get away with giving you no benefits: no holiday pay, little to no sick pay, ect. The only real benefit you get working here is a 40% discount on jewellery, which does not make up for the inconsistency of hours, no holiday pay, and no sick pay. - Store managers have been over heard on calls with Senior management being told not to give staff more hours as it will mean they have to be on a full time contracts. - Hours unexpectedly cut in January every year and only a few weeks notice given to floor staff when the store isn't making enough money, causing staff to lose out on pay and not enough notice for them to quit and find somewhere with income security. - London living wage is not met. - No commission on pieces sold. Even if you're their top seller. - Schedule posted 1 week before it is released, so it is incredibly difficult to plan and schedule your personal life. - Shocking in-store managers and bullying culture from operations and store managers. Never properly addressed from HR even when raised. I worked at Mejuri for over a year, by the end of it I was depressed and unwell. Disappointed from a company I used to aspire to.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Mejuri, we are committed to fostering a positive and supportive workplace, and we take feedback seriously as we continually work to improve. We’d like to clarify a few points while also acknowledging how these policies may have impacted your experience: - Bonuses: Our bonus structure is team-based, designed to reward the collective efforts of the store team rather than individual sales. While we believe this approach fosters collaboration, we understand that it may not feel equally motivating for everyone, and we appreciate the perspective you’ve shared. -Scheduling Adjustments: During the holiday season, we rely on open availability from team members to meet higher customer demand. When traffic naturally declines in January, hours are adjusted to align with both the reduced demand and the availability shared by team members. We understand that these fluctuations can be challenging, and we will review how we can better communicate and plan during these transitions. -Full-Time Status and Benefits: Full-time employees at Mejuri are eligible for benefits, while part-time employees are not. Maintaining full-time status does require consistent availability to work a full-time schedule. We recognize that this may not suit everyone’s personal circumstances, and we value the effort and contributions of all team members, regardless of their status. We appreciate the time you spent with Mejuri and the effort you contributed to the team. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
