They make you scared every year about whether you will have a job or not. You know that every September, they will make a big organizational change and you do not know if you will be part of that organization or not. If you are not, then you will have a month to survive in chaos. If you are not part of any network, it is almost impossible to change your job. It looks like a global company from the outside, however, it is more like a family company. People promote only their friends or people they knew previously. Tons of unfairness towards their employees. No need to talk about work/life balance as there is no life while working there.

SO MANY restructures (typically annual) which results in uncertainty around career longevity with Maersk, and also the senior leadership do not know the people and the jobs - hence cuts are typically done on a cost basis. As a result it is hard to feel motivated or that your particular contribution is valued as an employee.
