Pros
The group I worked in was very supportive of each other as we developed new products, processes, systems or procedures. Management was engaging and truly interested in feedback, suggestions or ideas from employees. You could ask questions or give answers all with the ultimate goal of what was best for our customers and company.
Cons
Union positions are driven by senority only. The most qualified employees were not necessarily the ones promoted or spared from a lay off which weakens the company as a whole.
