Pros

A paycheck while you look for a better job.

Cons

At a high-level, Centurylink is run as a holding-company that buys up smaller companies in order to increase the stock price. It isn't operated as a telecom, and the CEO's insane vision is to magically turn the entire company into a rebranded managed-services & consulting firm (ala IBM) called "Centurylink Technical Services" within 5 years. At the employee level, this is a toxic environment to work in. Brain drain: everyone with potential or self-respect has left, so that all that's left in the company are bitter, mean-spirited and cynical. Employee turnover is ridiculously high: there's always open positions at CenturyLink because people can't stand the place. No career growth; even if a position comes open, they'll hire from outside instead of promoting from within. My advice: avoid the place like the plague.

Pros

It really got to the point that I was only coming to work since I made lots of friends when helping everyone when they first started

Cons

Management has got to the point that they are not on the same level and everything has become wishy-washy Sales reps have had just about all their commission taken away. Sell the same amount of units 10 months ago and your commission would be $1,400 or more but now it equals out to $525

Pros

Very few, if any, pros. Unless you live in Monroe or are willing to move there, promotions are non-existent and at some point your job will probably go away anyway. If you live in another city your compensation may be OK at first but they are always looking for a reason to cut it. They think salaries and the cost of living in Seattle are the same as Monroe.

Cons

Company leadership is clueless, horrible, hypocritical and untrusting. The company is still run as if it's some sort of mom and pop phone company instead of a major corporation. There is no accountability for bad decisions and poor performance. The old boy southern network is alive and well and competence is not a consideration. The Unifying Principles are a joke and force fed to employees while virtually ignored by leadership. The CEO is probably a nice person but he doesn't know a lot of what goes on, or he doesn't want to know.
