Pros

Possible 4 day work week Great product idea that is dying fast Great engineers from good schools almost all who joined as fresh grad

Cons

Engineer has no voice to supervisor domination Too much control from mother ship in Germany, supervisors cannot be reviewed by the team they oversee, so they tend to be very hostile and condescending and still get away Human resources has no power Yes men with zero management experience and bad people skills and communication are given preference so that they inturn are yes-men to their boses Extreme micromanagement. This is not true for all groups. But if you are unlucky you can land in a very tough spot.

Pros

Karl Storz is a very family oriented company. I love the fact that the company is very strong and prides itself on helping others...Also. if you are in the correct department with a degree the sky is AlMOST the limit for you until you hit that GLASS CELE LING.

Cons

One of Karl Storz biggest challenges, is that they have very poor management teams. They do not believe in promoting from with in if you are not the right race. They re consistently hiring unqualified mangers on top and creating new director positions which are being filled from the outside, therefore, limiting the growth for people that have tenure and have been faithful to the company. The company has been in Los Angeles since 1971 and they do not have an African American or Hispanic director. BUT, yet the company is made up of about 70% minorities if not more.

Pros

Benefits and hybrid schedule are the only positives

Cons

I'm sure there are not many cons in other depts, but customer service is like burning in hell. Super micro-managed call center, all break times are assigned on a daily basis, very meeting heavy, because of the many changes. All calls are recorded and if you Are lucky, you will get bullied every other day for breathing the wrong way on your calls. Be prepared to get bullied by a few " tenured" employees or "leadership, no one will care or help. Constant nit-picking, too much work, too many expectations. If you're in this dept, you WILL BE doing work for other departments to make their life easier. and more duties added constantly.very big on favoritism. The favorites are already in place, so good luck. On office days, you will see the favorites or anyone not in customer service playing with their phones and chatting while you slave away. The training program is about 6 months of boot camp. At interviews, they will say "about 12 calls per person" don't believe the hype, it's about 30 calls a day.thats all folks!
