Horrible place

Pros

Can't think of any. The "healthcare" is just a corporate discount on overpriced VHI and Hertz do not contribute towards the cost. The subsidised canteen, well you get what you pay for - tangy tomato sauce on cheap meatballs and the most disgusting soup I ever tasted. The gym is tiny, overpriced and has little equipment. All that leaves is a salary, which doesn't compensate for the working hours.

Cons

Old time and senior staff have little ability and rely on their wiliness and their old-timer pals to survive in this toxic environment, while contributing to its toxicity. Most other staff are just forgettable and annoying. Anyone good leaves within a year. It's a very demotivating environment, guaranteed to destroy your soul, sap your energy and result in burnout.

Pros

None unfortunately. Have worked for Hertz close to four years and it's just an accelerating decline into a deep dark abyss.

Cons

Horrific management across all levels and departments. Employee morale has gone from sour to morbid. Just about every one I know wants to quit the Estero Headquarter office and actively interviewing for other companies. Four CEOs in the last 2 years (Mark, Brian, John and now Kathy). Company now trying to copy completion with Choice model and playing catch up but market share continues to dive all over the country. Dilapidated facilities is the reality across the country specially for employee areas. Consistently renting bad and unsafe cars to customers at astronomical rates. Employee benefits including merit increases and bonus are in constant flux in an attempt to avoid having reasonable targets to achieve and pay out. Stay away from this company whether you are an employee, shareholder or customer....you have been warned!

Pros

Beautiful new facility with gym, cafeteria, daycare Opportunity for career growth Very talented executive team was just added with experience to elevate skills and knowledge

Cons

Old systems. Although trying to go to new systems the information is wrong. Makes it very hard to run reports as data is not valid. Hard to make business decisions as everyone is running their own reports. Departments are not in unity with each department running its own business style. Male prominent management team.
