Great People, but Exhausting

Pros

The former People team was great to work with. Great personalities and a real collaborative team, across different functions. Competing goals sometimes, but still manageable. One of the best teams I have ever been on.

Cons

As the People team grew, so did the divide and new upper level management was less empathetic. The former team is no longer there and the now former CHRO was nice but his emails were a different tone all together. Rewards leader was cold and unfortunately, employee relations became too conservative. HelloFresh is now a large organization with a heavy growth model, as it is booming, but less human for the employee. Congrats org, you've lost your soul but are profitable.

Where do I even start There is no work life balance Management will give you an impossible assignment and when you ask about it they pretty much say oh well. Days off is a suggestion, on more times than I can count I was working for 8+hrs on my "day off" The drama is beyond ridiculous. Grown adults acting like they are on the Jerry Springer show I almost never felt safe, and when brought up to upper management they would laugh at you No respect No recognition No room for growth

Cons

Fun start-up became more corporate. Lost its great company culture from a few years ago. Promotions became rare except for the same few Sometimes big pay gaps Fear of losing your job became more motivation than opportunity to advance
