- Lack of seniority of the team, there is a lot of engineer that is clearly mid level or even junior in a senior position. Also some engineer managers are not prepared for their job;
- There is a big Go community there which is very opinionated and they will just ignore most of the best practices and probably tell that big authors like Uncle Bob are just an old person and what they say was valid only for the 90's;
- Egoless environment is one of the company DNA but this is far to be true, you will realise that in less than 3 months;
- Disagree and commit, another company DNA, is basically disagree with something dangerous but keep your mouth shut;
- Some people there are quite toxic, they will talk about you on your back, and you will know it because people talk too much;
- They had to remove the all hands anonymous questions because a lot of people was complaining about some serious genuine stuff and instead of fixing them they just silenced employees. Sure you can now add your name there, but probably you will face some retaliation.
- You need to be a professional ticket closer, don't try to solve real and complex problems because the product will not allow it. They prioritise a lot of bad practices just to move fast. They're already getting the bad results from that approach in some tribes with a very bad software and having to reboot some stuffs;
- Personal OKR's are just to make people be competitive between them, and it doesn't matter if you want to solve a real problem, someone has more power than you and will use that against you. At the end they just want to have their names signed in some projects and be some kind of "hero" to get a promotion in the next review;
- I've faced a particular situation where I had a Senior Director lying to me about something, the situation as fixed by another person but it was too late;
- They will mess up with your self esteem and make you think that you're not good enough and not pay your therapy.
