Pros

Discounted food (didn't stay long enough to enjoy that) Free snacks Laid back dress code

Cons

Not enough training. Management is lackluster and not very knowledgeable. This office is the epitome of petty. They don't want you talking to people in other rows, but management is loud and obnoxious most of the day. Pay is crappy and non negotiable. One week of training just isn't enough and I really hope someone changes this for future employees. They seriously need a handbook. Making up rules as you go isn't professional. I believe a handbook is necessary to back up their decisions with hiring and firing. They should really be concerned with the turnover rate. While some are indeed getting fired, a very large group of people are leaving WITHOUT notice. That should be a strong concern for management.

Toxic Workplace with politics

Pros

- If you are moving from abroad. This is a good company to start with as they take care of every little help that you may require to ease into the German system. - People esp Managers and below are smart and kind - Hellofresh meal discount (funnily enough everyone I know who has left the company doesn't continue with the product as they feel the ROI of the product is bad) - The office services are good (Unfortunately this is going down as well because of the RTO and poor planning by management)

Cons

- There is no trust between employees and Senior Management (Directors and above). You cannot expect your higher ups to be invested in your growth, they are just covering their own base. Any mistake you do can and will be taken up against you. - Promotions are a joke with ~5% increment. Everyone is taking care of their own KPIs which means you will have multiple squads running similar initiatives. - Mediocre work. Its a matured product with dying customer base. All initiatives are either about optimizing something that already exists or around introducing new process and initiatives. An address correction feature or dynamic pricing is hailed as the next big initiative. Things that exist since past 15 years. A market where new LLMs are being introduced, tech work here is really subpar with basic engineering and product practices missing. They talk big but look at HF's recipe recommendation and you would know how good they are. - Every year new strategies are written or discovered (with confirmation bias). As the year ends, they think of new things to do which is essentially the same old stuff but with a new name.

Horrible Experience

Pros

I joined HelloFresh three years ago, and at that time, it was a fantastic company to work for. There were perks like work from home , Learning budget , Home office setup but all of it is gone now.

Cons

- The company no longer offers a Learning & Development (L&D) budget, as this initiative has been discontinued. - There's no longer a home office budget. - The "flexible" hybrid work policy isn't as flexible as it claims. Management is increasingly pushing employees to come into the office five days a week. - Middle managers have even sent out threatening emails, warning employees of termination if they don't comply coming to office 3 days a week. - The work environment has become highly stressful, and it feels like management does not support employees seeking work-life balance. I have been personally told by my manager , this is not the company for work life balance. - Employees are frequently placed on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and pressured into signing mutual termination agreements. I have been hearing this from colleagues , twitter and several sources . - The company always keep fighting with working council , constantly suing members of work council . - The company is constantly restructuring. Over my three years here, I've had seven different managers, each with varying expectations, making it nearly impossible to work toward a promotion. - The VP and C-level suite is clueless and they think suddenly bringing employees to office and micro managing them will boast revenue. - i would highly avoid conversions journey department, the leads and VPs are all highly toxic.
