Pros

The benefits for this company are fantastic and if you are good at your job, you can work 40-45 hours a week without much problem.

Cons

There is zero training for hourly employees and management level employees Many of the locations are in poor repair and there is a stigma to working for this retail company Although the majority of revenue for the non-profit venture is generated through the retail side, almost no attention is given to streamlining operations to actual increase these funds.

Pros

Coworkers were great - had a lot of heart and commitment. The company culture is trying hard to be inclusive.

Cons

My experience was that working for GOODWILL is not a good place for people with disabilities. I disclosed on my interview that I am a person with disabilities and I use Paratransit. I managed to last six months in this job and it was a struggle with management. It took me four months of advocating to finally get a bench to sit on to wait for Paratransit. I couldn’t get the company to get me an assistive program to help me with typing. I think I was a perfect fit for this position as my skills and experience fit the position. Often it felt like a daily struggle as I had to explain basic concepts that apply for folks who have disabilities. I had 30 to 40 hours of work to fit into a 20 hour slot. My manager was forcing me to change my hours, and it would make it even harder to get to work using taxis and Paratransit. I felt very unwelcome from direct management and the workplace was chaotic. I left after six months.
