How Badly Do You Need A Job

Pros

Excellent benefits after six months but you have to fight for them and you might get your hours cut back to prevent you from your eligibility.

Cons

Management's main concern is profit and every employee knows it. Lots of politics and backbiting and closed-door stuff. Sadly there is a snitch system and if you say something negative about a supervisor or manager they will get told. If you work there adjust to low pay, keep your mouth shut, and keep your eyes open for other opportunities.

Very unorganized company with lack of true management.

Pros

My cost for health benefits!

Cons

Lack of communication among management causing tasks to be done over and over by several different employees. And done differently each time. Makes no sense and is a waste of manpower. as for the work, it isn't that bad, but with lack of proper equipment and conflicting orders both in store and above, the work becomes sometime impossible and more stressful than it needs to be. Adding to that there are some employees that can barely do the job and the rest of us find ourselves doing our work and then picking up the slack from others. Yet they continue to keep their jobs and do less and less. Training by management to the polices but then the same management personal do the opposite and say it's fine. Why have a company policy and why spend time training staff if you are not going to follow policy? Customers are always questioning the pricing and since management is out for every dollar they can get the customers have every reason to complain. Some of our wares prices are outrageous! Customers shop every thrift store in the area and when they see prices in Goodwill higher on used items they can buy new down the street, can you blame them for going elsewhere? This company has forgotten their mission. The pay is a very low for the average employee and the ad on Goodwill radio talking about "offering a competitive salary" is a joke! Bottom line is with the lack of available jobs in this area, and the number of unemployed applying for the few jobs, my only choice is to suck it up until I find something else.
