Pretty Good, Could Be Better

Pros

I worked full-time at Goodwill Commons. The building is huge with lots of natural sunlight. The job was low-stress. I never worked after-hours. There were lots of opportunities for employee engagement. My coworkers were warm people I was happy to spend time with.

Cons

Pay is a little lower than other nonprofits in the area. The benefits package is much, much less comprehensive than other nonprofits. Staff should never be asked to "volunteer" at organization events. Executive leadership micromanages and doesn't trust or empower junior employees.

Pros

Most of your coworkers are terrific to work with and will remain your friend long after you leave

Cons

Inconsistent management that will give you 5 different answers to the same question. Impossible quotas that will only get raised if you actually achieve it, insuring management will never be satisfied no matter how hard you work
