Pros

Oxford Street, means you are working in a big retail windows

Cons

5 months after the great oppening. The Store is looking already for Store Manager, Visual Merchandising Manager, 2 Store Supervisors, 6 Floor Managers... doens't need comments when you realize that positions were filled 5 months ago. The Staff turn-over is extremaly high as result of poor management. Problems with the shifts, overnights and, the worst, payslips... never are correct...

Pros

- Cheap clothes; if you like something, you can usually snag it before it goes out on the floor. - SOME co-workers can be a lot of fun to work with - Store and co-manager are usually pretty good at working around your schedule

Cons

- Pay is HORRIBLE. - No benefits or direct deposit - Inconsistent schedule; some weeks you work 30+ hours, with multiple 8-hour shifts, other weeks you work 20 hours, only working 5-6 hours a day - If you call out sick, they get mad and expect you to bring a doctors note. But if you come to work sick, they complain about how you're getting everyone else sick. Yeah, pay for the doctor's visit and I'll go, thanks. - Hard work is overlooked and management has no problems stringing you along about a promotion you'll never get. - If you're friends with management, you can sit around and talk your entire shift - Management and some associates alike are nice to your face and talk behind your back. It's like working in a high school. - If you bring a problem to management, they will tell you what you want to hear and then toss the issue aside. When you bring the problem to them again and ask why nothing was done, they will play dumb and claim you never said anything to them until now. - Customers can be VERY rude, disrespectful, and are always messy. Overall, just not worth working here unless you absolutely need a job.

Warning: Career Suicide

Pros

LA is a nice place to live.

Cons

Zero path for career development - you only take orders from the family and you aren't allowed to make decisions for yourself. Every cost, color, thread option and every other minuscule decision needs to be approved by an executive - even if you're a DMM. The daughters control much of the company now and they have high social anxiety. They're unable to handle confrontation and can't look at you when they speak - they spend 90% of their time looking at their cell phones to buffer themselves from the reality around them. Favoritism and throwing your co-workers under the bus is how you get ahead. Those that go on mission trips or attend the family's church tend to get ahead - those that don't tend to stay where they are. Team work is not encouraged and cross-functional meetings are frowned upon. Essentially they just want you at your desk doing what you're told. High-stress job for not a lot of return. High sense of anxiety and paranoia throughout the entire company. There is zero trust within the family and that permeates down to every person that works there. They won't even let you print in color because they have no money. lol. If you want to print in color - Mr. Chang needs to approve it.
