Pros

Being Indian or Brazilian will guarantee you a job in Pricing or Sales Operations.

Cons

Managers replace long term employees with their close friends from their same countries. This is what Essilor calls "diversity". Business acumen means nothing, race is everything.

Pros

There are great benefits, fair conpensation ONLY if you're not working at the lab

Cons

All carrer advancements, promotions, raise are only given to men. The few women who are managers are 3 times more qualify than their male counter parts. The lab mostly hires, spanish speaking migrants or people with prison records. They are made to feel that they have very little choices when complaining. There is a union but its in house and report to HR and management. Unless you are one of the "men" in the inner circle you're never fully given any information. Its almost like they are stuck in time, the place is very segregated. This isnt betterness im one of the few people with a decent salary, but as someone with migrant parents, this does bother me

Room for Improvement

Pros

Once people make it to director level in marketing, work-life balance is typically quite good(10 years to get there). Vacation policies are good for some, but not all. You get to experience a broad variety of roles within marketing on good products and projects. Some roles provide exposure to executives and fun conferences.

Cons

The data systems are not being modernized to keep up with reporting demands or the needs of modern marketing. Accurate data on sales is not easy to get your hands on. Only a select group of marketers are trusted with data though nearly all have graduate degrees before being hired. In marketing, promotions are simply based on time with the company. If you're an outstanding employee, there is nothing you can do to accelerate your career. Post-mba, it's likely 15-20 years to get to VP if everything goes perfectly. On the flip side, those with less drive and talent get promoted at the same rate as everyone else.
