      Stay Clear of Essilor - Go the Opposite Direction

      Pros

      Great individuals to work with for the most part.

      Cons

      Executive leadership and their willingness to blame others for their lack of decisions, or poor decisions, or taking responsibility. French company, so GAP aren't used; no US regulatory oversight. The company operates much like today's political environment -- blame, no ownership, "what's in it for me." The only group I would recommend would be Marketing, but be prepared for last minute style of management.

      Pros

      See cons I have worked in 5 or 6 companies big and small but Essilor of America stands out as one of its own league. I have never seen a company with culture so toxic, leadership so clueless, and caring for its employees non-existent. Feel free to chat with any former or current employee to see if this is true.

      Cons

      A puppy CEO, an narcissist CMO, a CCO who left months after the role was created by and for himself, a CHRO who proudly "retired to spend more time with family" and started with another company next day. Bravo to you LC, bravo...

      Pros

      Lots of opportunities to stretch and grow, if politically savvy, competitive and highly networked.

      Cons

      Revolving door, no change management practices with lots of change, needs to pay more attention to inclusive work environment. HR is there for management - employees. Can do better with recruiting and retaining ethnic minorities.
