Honestly, there are some good things about EF. They do teach you a lot about teaching. I feel their training is actually good for those who've never taught before. They also offer some options for advancement through the company and personal growth via accredited certificates like CELTA equivalents.

Cons

The biggest downsides these days are that your work load as an expat teacher is going to be quite high. While this isn't always a bad thing, you'll have too many different classes to plan for and you will only see students a maximum of 4 hours a month. It's not enough to really get to know your students' needs in a timely manner. The other thing about working for them is that, in my experience at two different EF centers, I stopped being treated as a human during the last few years of my tenure and more like a robot. We were given more and more work.

Good environment, supportive manager & co-workers, great materials for teaching.

Cons

Overworked. No bonus after conducting events. No work-life balance. Working 6 days, sometimes when there are events, you will work 7 days that week and only get 1 day off next week.
