Very good for remote work

Pros

Work from anywhere in the world for high tech companies

Cons

You need to have a small program on you computer to monitor whatever you are doing. If you stop working for 10 minutes, like to go the bathroom, that won't count as time worked. No holidays.

Great place to work

Pros

- Pay rate is well above the market (at least for case of market, which is local for me); - Ability to work from any place in the world, which has Internet connection. However, if you go too far away from your manager / teams, you would need to work in weird time of the day. - Interesting projects with new technologies (at least in my case; I heard different stories from my colleagues working on other projects). - Clear measurable goals set by management (once again, it's true for my case, but I heard different stories).

Cons

- Career options are pretty limited once you reached certain ($50/h) position; - Some colleagues of mine complain that company direction changes too often. Personally I don't see it as bad thing, I believe it's required for company to be successful; but I know that not everybody shares the same opinion.

Most frustrating job experience ever

Pros

never had an issue with the payments

Cons

- People can be dismissed any moment with no notice - In the last 12 months, 80% of the developers and managers that worked with me were dismissed - The employee turnover is simply unsustainable. Only the management does not notice it - The human value is ZERO. Every week all employees are submitted to automated company-wide metrics, who's below the bottom line is dismissed - Super high pressure, we are all over stressed and most of us are searching for a new job - Software quality is far from being a priority - No personal growth paths, no training, no salary or level raises - Employees are a meaningless number in a mincer
