Pros

Discount for furniture and housewares.

Cons

Lack of diversity in upper management - all white women who wear plaid and shop at Banana Republic and Gap with 2.3 children. The expectation is that you work 50+ hours and never have a weekend off unless you suck up to the right manager. It is a typical retail hell job that used to be fun and interesting and now it is about the almight dollar!

Pros

The ONLY reason to work for Crate and Barrel is to get discount on home furnishings if you just moved into a new home or you are getting married.

Cons

UNBELIEVABLE incompetence - several of the low level managers I worked with were functional illiterates. If you enjoyed 4th grade, you will do well at the stores. If not, ....oh well.

Cons

the inexperienced bosses. the utter lack of forward thinking management. the pittance of salaries. the time my boss said"so remeber, you're lunch hour lasts 45 minutes". it wa lost on her that they call it a lunch hour for a very simple reaso. it lasts an hour.
