Pros

I enjoy the PTO that is offered. I have met some really great people.

Cons

My department is extremely micromanaged. It feels like I am back in High School with gossip girls running the shots. I am unsure how Cielo says they are the best place to work. Often times you are overworked and even if you’re hourly you won’t get OT but they won’t bat an eye if you have to skip lunch or work late without pay. Hours are not flexible. Need to log in 30 min late or early because you have personal business? Sorry. Must get written approval first and added to a calendar for everyone to see. I don’t even want to get promoted because everyone I know that has makes like a dollar or two more and hates their life even more than they did before. The work itself is not terrible. The job might be enjoyable with different management. Fact of the matter is things have gone increasingly downhill and don’t seem to be going up anytime soon. This can be seen by how many veterans leave each month. Some without even a backup plan because they are so miserable. I understand meeting numbers and metrics is important. Cielo has a business to run. However, if you overwork people their work will suffer. If you provide no incentive, their work will suffer. If you micromanage, their work will suffer. There is just nothing positive to say about the department I am in. I once took off for an unexpected funeral and was asked to log in at night to work (without pay). What? Are you people heartless? People quit and they do not replace them. Or they do replace them but that person then quits too. It’s a never-ending circle and those who stick around just end up getting screwed over with more work and nothing to show for it. Leadership has really shifted and you can truly tell this past year has hit Bridge hard. It stems from the top and trickles down. Its just not a good place to work. I am a very hard worker so this review is not made by a disgruntled employee, so please take that into consideration. I am just fed up. The micro management, unrealistic goals and just overall attitude of everyone is just horrible. Micro managing causes demoralization which results in decreased productivity. Leave your good workers ALONE. If someone is crappy, I get it but to treat your good employees like they suck, no thank you. If you express concerns you’re basically told “ look elsewhere.” They truly don’t care about employees concerns or take them seriously. It is horrible management to tell your employees to feel free to look elsewhere as a response to concerns over them being unhappy. Someone quit in the department a few months back and sent her resignation to the whole department. Everything she expressed as concerns were spot on. Leadership laughed it off and has since done nothing to improve it. I predict a few more months you will have no more seasoned employees in this department. They all will have left. It’s an issue when your loyal employees are fed up. They now measure how many phone calls you make a day, it’s basically a call center. The funny thing is they preach to “pick up the phone” or remember candidates are stepping into careers to support themselves and their families. It’s funny because if leadership has something to call you out on they do not pick up the phone to call you or walk over to your desk to discuss. You get a passive aggressive email. They tell you to treat candidates with compassion but they do not treat their own employees with the same compassion. They do not lead by example.

Employee appreciation

Pros

Not too many. Things are getting worse month by month.

Cons

Let me tell you a little story about a recent experience at this company that will sum up how things are trending. Today we have an "employee appreciation" event at a beer garden that is quiet a distance from the office. For those of us that want to / able to attend the event, we were released from work at 2pm. If you work remotely, you were free to leave at the same time and you receive a gift in the mail. ANYONE ELSE that is unable to make the event or choosing not to go to a beer garden and drink or watch fellow co-workers and bosses drink we were mandated to work our normally scheduled times.
